Is this correct?

"Would you take the wheel
If I lose control?"

Shouldn't it be either ... Will you take the wheel I lose control. ... or ... Would you take the wheel if I lost control?

That is fine. It is a mixed conditional for politeness.

Those are the standard. They are not as polite as the original.
