Is this correct?

I wrote this sentence but began to wonder whether I should say "weren't" instead of "wasn't". What do you think?

" Religion indicates acute self-awareness and abstract thought, which probably wasn't prominent in the lives of our earliest ancestors"

Top answer

It seems that you intend the subject to be "acute self-awareness and abstract thought". This is plural, so it should be "weren't".
