Is this correct?

I'm writing an email and I want I basically wanna know about my application status and mention the fact that I was supposed to receive a decision yesterday and did not receive it. Is this correct?
" I applied for the spring semester and I would like to know about the status of my application, as I was supposed to receive a final decision yesterday.
