Is this correct?

I have come across this in a forum, and I believe it to be incorrect. I appreciate your input on this.

"It is tedious - but if you love the book, it is worth it. I also did it to 3 old books - and these books have been between 50 - 80 years old."

I am on about the "have been part".

Thanks. English is my second language, but it just sounded awkward or rather strange to me. I can't imagine saying "Petra is my friend. She has been 35 years of age."

DaithyPetra is my friend. She has been 35 years of age."
That would be a slightly different situation, so you wouldn't say that. You would say she is 35 years of age, or if you were talking of a moment in the past you would say she was 35 years of age.

Would have been sound better to you in a phrase like "A
