Is this correct?

Would an English speaker say the sentence this way?
I can't give you another bottle of water. There is the exact number of bottles for every patient here.

Top answer

I would say: I can't give you another bottle of water. There are only enough bottles for each patient to have one. Or, if you want wording closer to the original: I can't give you another bottle of water.

What do you think of : I have just enough sheets of paper for the number of envelopes I have to stuff.
Is it correct?

Can you let me know how you would say

All of your sentences are workable as is.

If you wanted to be more elegant, you could say something like:

I don't need a very good computer, given my needs.
Considering how little I will use it, I won't need a very good computer.

You said that all my sentences are workable. Which are you talking about?

How would you write the following, would you leave it as is or would you change it as you did the first 2 in the original post? : I have just enough sheets of paper for the number of envelopes I have to stuff.

Did you mean that these were workable? Which of these 2 is correct in terms of grammar? Could you

#1 By "workable" I mean that a reader would understand what you meant and that there is nothing obviously wrong about the grammar. I prefer my wording, but your original wording "works." However, I would spell out the first sentence more:
For the amount of time I use my computer, I don't need a very good one.

Hi

Would I have to start with Since?
Since she's met him, she's never been happier.

Can I start like thus?
She's never been happier since she's met him.

How come I'd have to get rid of 'this'

Since they moved in together, they have never been this happy. (Why is this incorrect?)

What do you think of "Since they moved in together, they had never

#1 I prefer the first wording because it presents a time line.
Since she met him (first event in time), she's never been happier (second event in time).
The other way around could be confusing because "since" could be read as cause not time.
She's never been happier since she meet him. (She is unhappy because she met him).

Hi,
Might I ask if it is correct?
I own a grammar book, but nowhere does it talk about 'other than' I don't know how to incorporate it in a sentence.

They were killed for no other reason than that their views were different than others.
They were killed for no reason other than that their views were different than others.

I have other things to do than that.

I prefer the form where "other than" is kept together. It often makes sense even if split up, but that is not always the best way to word the sentence. For example:

They were killed for no other reason than that their views were different than others.
They were killed just because their views were different than those of others.

Is other than a comparative form? Other goes with than right? You prefer the following :

They were killed for no reason other than that their views were different than others
I have things to do other than that.
What thing could they do other than sleep at this hour?

You example : What else could they do than sleep at this hour? Haven't you forgotten 'other
