Is this correct?

Let's say every boy has an approved textbook (same one for everyone).

'They each have an approved textbook' aside, could I say 'The boys/They have approved textbooks'?

They (the boys) have approved textbooks.

They each have an approved textbook. Or Each [of the boys] has an approved textbook.


I'm not sure how you're using "aside."

"They each have an approved textbook" is a common AmE usage. I suppose it may raise a few eyebrows.
