Is this correct?

If I want to describe ''some people who are not that old, or not that young, but wanna avoid any mention of old, so I went with '' I like people of not young age'', then is this right?

I thought out this expression from People of certain age.

I thought out this expression from People of certain age''. Uhless you want to be, for example, coy or poetic, why not just say that they are 'middle-aged' ?
