Is this correct?

She managed worse than usual.
Or is this better this way: She managed worse than usually.

She managed worse than usual.

'Usually' here would be either hypercorrection or incorrect. My take, if the latter, is that as normally conceived, 'usual' is a pronomial for e.g. 'the usual management' rather than an adverb modifying 'manage'.
