Is this correct?!

Hello thereEmotion: smile

At my school, there is a poster urging people to check the "Competition Noticeboard". Now, for some reason, every time I see it, I feel like it's gramatically incorrect - should there be an apostrophe or something along those lines in there?

However, I'm not entirely sure (I'm normally fairly good at grammar, but for some reason I'm completely blank on this one), and I'd really appreciate it if someone could let me know whether it actually IS wrong or not!

Thanks in advance.

Hello perdurable, welcome to EF!

'Competition' in 'Competition Noticeboard' is a 'modifier' – in this instance, a noun used to modify another noun. (Cf. 'car wash', 'bathroom light', 'railway engine'.) So you wouldn't need an apostrophe.

Is 'check the competition noticeboard' the entire text?
