is this conversation correct with 'would'??

Jack: My cousin always kills insects whenever he sees.
Alex: I would never kill any insects.
Jack: me too.
Here the use of 'would' is correct?
Is there a conditional like I would never kill any insects even if some one gave me the money. Can we replace would with will there? Please help.

Is it possible if we replace the sentence 'I would never kill any insects' with 'I never kill any insects'?? Does 'would' mean only conditional in a affirmative, negative present sentence? ?

tenjingI would never kill any insects.
"would" is fine.

It is probably safe to say that "I would never" always has the underlying suggestion "I am not the kind of person who".

I would never steal from poor orphans. ~ I am not the kind of person who steals from poor orphans.
I would never say such mean things. ~ I am not the kind of perso
