While Tol had been organizing the Ergothians under his command into an army, Kiya had made the dangerous journey to Hylo in order to gain the support of the kender. She arrived in Hylo City after a difficult three days of travel and convinced Casberry to aid Tol in his war against the nomads. The army of Hylo, a mixed band of kender and hired humans that numbered some hundred strong, gathered in the capital and began the journey to the Eastern Hundred. After three days of slow travel, the army finally arrived in the empire and discovered an imperial blockhouse on the Juramona road.
