Is this acceptable? "All I can say is, wow"

I was surfing yahoo questions and I saw this: "All I can say is, wow".

1-"All I can say is, wow"

2-"All I can say is: wow"

3-"All I can say is—wow"

4-"All I can say is 'wow'"

Having that pause between 'wow' and 'is' is very important to me. Any way I can go about doing it (like in a formal essay or something)?

I would use this: All I can say is "Wow" But that doesn't emphasize the pause, so you may want a dash there. In my opinion, wow is not appropriate for use in a formal essay unless you can work it in as part of a quote. CJ

In a formal setting, this is how I would suggest writing it:

All I can say is, "wow."

or even

All I can say is, "wow!"
