Is This a Correct English Sentence?

Hi, could anyone please explain to me whether "She paid dividend for her mistake." is a correct English sentence?

It's correct grammar if you say "She paid a dividend for her mistake."

But in terms of meaning, the sentence does not make sense. I think you mean a penalty, not a dividend.
