Is "thinking of your smile" an adverb in this sentence?

in adam lambert's song called time for miracles he says i cant breathe thinking of your smile.is "thinking of your smile" plays adverb role.or the main sentence was "i cant breathe when im thinking of your smile" and when im is omitted.can you help me figuring this out?
