Is there tense correct?

Rita Fan announced yesterday she would not contest for the next Chief Executive. She, the former Legco president and a member of Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress, said she has little confidence that she can handle the heavy burden of being CE till 2017, because she is already 66. She denied the central government had put pressure on her not to join the race, and said it was purely her personal decision.
