Is there something grammatically incorrect

Believe that both are grammatically correct which one you would use depends on the meaning you wish to convey. Confusing memories are those which are difficult to make sense of at the time you think of them. Confused memories are those which in themselves don't make any sense to you.

For example if you remember that your mother's hair was blond and you also remember that your father told you that your mother's hair was black these are examples of confusing memories.

If you have a recollection of a glass full of water being turned on its side and the water not flowing out of it that would be a confused memory. It may also be confusing when you think of it now but, in itself, there is confusion.
