Is there sarcasm in this?

Hey Folks,

Is there sarcasm in "buh-bye" or "bu-bye"? The conversation does not sound sarcastic. After dealing with the customer, the customer representative concludes the conversation with "bu-bye" or "buh-bye". I was browsing a website and that said that "this is a way of expressing disdain when forced to provide friendly customer service to someone" !

Thanks!

It's spelled "bye-bye" (in casual speech, the first "bye" is often pronounced like your "buh"). There is no sarcasm inherent in this expression. It is usually meant genuinely.
