AnonymousIn US handwriting, the sign most often seen is a plus sign with the bottom end and left end connected by a 45 degree line. With a little practice this can be very rapidly done without lifting the pen from the paper.This is common in the UK too. Sorry ... I'm thinking now that the symbol I was referring to earlier may actually be this one.
