Is there any difference in

Hi guys,

I have a problem understanding the difference between the following sentences:

A)

1- I bought a new car.

2- I bought this car new.

Is New treated as an adjective in both of the above?

Is there a difference in meaning? Does the 2nd emphasize the fact the the car is new?

B)

Where is Jim?

1- He is by the door.

2-He is at the door.

Which on is correct?

C)

1- My brother is in school?

2- My brother is at the school?

what is the difference?

Thnaks in advance
