Is there any difference between "seminal" and "pivotal"?

Source: Lexico

Seminal: "(of a work, event, moment, or figure) strongly influencing later developments"

Pivotal: "of crucial importance in relation to the development or success of something else:"

Is there a difference between the two words? They both give me the impression of something big or important that can make or break the development or growth or progress of something else.
