Is there a word for :

Is there a word for 'remained at platform'? Is 'depart' the correct word?

The train remained at platform and wouldn't depart because of a sick passenger aboard.

Is there a word for 'remained at platform'? I can't think of a single word. Perhaps simply 'waited'.

Is 'depart' the correct word? Yes. But we often just say ' wouldn't go'.

The train remained at the platform and wouldn't depart

The train remained at the platform and didn't depart because of a sick passenger aboard.

"Depart" is right. A train can remain at the platform. You could also say it remained in the station if it was a big station, or "at" the station if it was a small one.
