Is there a saying expressing this?

Dear All,

Could you tell me, please, if there's a proverb or saying in English which means that if something is late/delayed, that doesn't necessarily mean it won't ever happen (i.e. won't happen later)?

Thanks.

The only thing I can think of is better late than never . But that usually is said after the fact, somewhat apologetically.
