Is there a proper word?

I am looking for a proper word.
When someone looks too tired, their eyes look like they have a hollow in the eyes. Is there a proper word which can describe it?
The eyes got in the head? What about this?

Top answer

messier42 The eyes got in the head? This sounds like it might be a direct translation of an idiom from another language, but it doesn't mean anything in English. As for possible descriptions: the person may look weary; he may have a vacant look in his eyes; he may have a wan expression on his face.
