Is there a good style book for writing fiction?

I am looking for a book with a lot of examples from the literature and writing tips and rules.

What kind of literature interests you? What kind of fiction are you interested in writing? Is it just for fun or for a class? If it's for a class, what level are you?

What kind of literature interests you? Fiction/Historical Events/Thriller/Mystery/Supernatural (a local, real world haunting...or so the legend of Hanging Hollow claims to be)/Detective/Nature/War/Love/Faith/Family/The clarity separating Good vs Evil/Right vs Wrong and the Gray that lies in between.

What kind of fiction are you interested in writing? I have written what I described above in a one book trilogy. Not published, not even close, but it's written. WOO-HOO! Now I must learn how to write it mo' better. That's why I'm here.

Is it just for fun or for a class? I'm an insane Irishman, almost 65, so everything is for fun.

If it's for a class, what level are you? I have earned several degrees all in science and health care. Quite a variety.

My turn. Just a guess, and I'm not asking because it's more fun not to know.... You used the word "literature" in a way that doesn't sound American. You strike me as young but it's the internet so you never really know.

Having been a high school teacher many years ago, when I heard the kids say, and they often did, "I met someone on the internet."

"WHOA! --WHOA!! --WHOA!!! You're as dumb as you are young and pretty! You cannot meet people on the internet! You converse with strangers on the internet!"

Some argued how they knew better.... Awww, Jesus.... "Okay. All I'm saying is never...ever...never-ever...get in some guy's car...unless he offers you really, really good candy...."

BINGO! Brains momentarily flickered on! They got it! Kids...they're so stupid, and funny as ****.

What I have learned: Whatever you choose write, what's most important is that you know what you're writing, that you love what you're writing, that you READ AND WRITE until you find your own voice.
