Is there a difference between "hurting" and "bothering"

Can you say this? Is it grammatical?

1 My eye isn't hurting, it's just bothering me. (I'm conscious of it)

Thank you

Yes, that's fine - except it's a comma splice. The simple solution is a full stop.

Yes there is a difference between hurting and bothering.

Hurting - giving you pain
Bothering - annoying or causing a problem

If your eye is bothering you it might not be painful.
