Is there a comma after "luckily"/"fortunately"/etc.?

Probably a silly question, but is there a comma after "Luckily"?

I'm under the impression that there is, but I've seen a huge number of people that omit it (e.g., "Luckily nothing happened"). Which is the correct case?
