Is the word 'amortize' correct?

I would like to explain this sentence clearly and would like to find the correct word.
The membership card I bought allows me to save $10 each ticket I buy. The card costs $100 so after 10 trips I've broken even/amortized it so it is worth it to buy it.
Thank you in advance

The only applications of amortization schedules that I am familiar with are those involving a bank loan to buy a house. These involve a complicated computation of interest for each payment. The simple situation you have here is not at all like that, so I don't think 'amortize' can possibly be correct.

I see, but then what word would you use for what I have written?
Thanks

Your version with "broken even" is fine. I'd use that.
