Is the verb 'see' correct in this context?

How would you write this?

If you ask a doctor to let you use the stethoscope to see/hear what she is hearing, how would you say this:

Can I see what you hear through the stethoscope?

I should add that “see” is often used in place of “experience”. For example, “Let me see what kissing you feels like.”

It would also sound very strange. Hear or listen to, would be much better wordings instead.
