Is the underscored part enough?

Hi teachers.

Shelly comes down the stairs to see smoke coming from the kitchen. She runs to the kitchen doorway, but the smoke is too heavy. She turns and heads for the door, coughing heavily.

Shelly runs out of her apartment building and into the street, still coughing from the smoke.

Is the underscored part enough or should I add something to it like ...from the smoke inhaled?
