Is the underlined part correct?

Our team has been awarded in Germany-wide competitions on several occasions.

It should mean that the competition covers all Geramny, and there are participants from all Germany.

Apologies, rereading that it should say

Our team has won national competitions in Germany on several occasions. National should not be capitalised in the middle of the sentence.

(I am not able to edit my posts or go back to them for a while once posted as I have never received a signup email despite requesting and re-requesting one...)
