Hello. Is the structure OK and is punctuation perfect here?

He takes a few steps back and runs at the door - but just then, the door opens and he runs straight into an old lady, who knocks him down with a frying pan.

The dash seems out of place—a comma is better. The comma after "then" damages the timing. A housekeeping comma is needed
