Is the sentence well-structured?

Hi!

Is the sentence well structured?

Up until now, Berlin is the second most important city for my artistic life, right after Barcelona.

I have also heard the use of phrase "to date". Could I use it here? "To date, Berlin is the second most important city for my artistic life, right after Barcelona."

Thank you a lot!
