It could be tidied up:

'This book is an informative and entertaining collection of archival records, rendering it of unique historical value.'

(I feel a little uneasy about the verb 'render' here, but I don't know why. In itself, it seems to be an appropriate verb for the occasion.)

I feel uneasy too. Is it because the subject of the participle almost seems to be 'this book' – which the 'it' also refers to? And I suppose we're more used to seeing passive forms of 'render'.
