Is the sentence correct?

Are these sentences making correct use of the word mystique:

1. The mystique about her kidnap shocked everyone.
2. The mystique surrounding the existence of aliens has made it a debatable topic.
3. The mystique about ingredients that are added into canned food are unknown to many people.

I have framed these sentences keeping in mind the following definition of mystique:

Mystique: the quality of being mysterious or secret that makes somebody/something interesting or attractive.

Top answer

The collocation is 'mystique surrounding', so I find only #2 natural structurally. Additionally, the word seems inappropriate in the contexts of #1 and #3.
