Is the sentence below the corresponding indirect speech one?

Hi teachers,
According to the quoted speech sentence given, is the sentence below the corresponding indirect speech one? What worries me is the period.

Coke thought, Nobody can be this lucky. I found a jacket, a shirt, and some trousers.

Coke thought (that) nobody could be that lucky. He had found a jacket, a shirt, and
some trousers.

Thanks in advance.

I find the sentences perfectly all right. Then again, I never think of any rules in cases like this. I just think what I or anyone else would say in actual life when telling someone what had happened.
