Is the preposition needed here?

Sentence: "My anti-virus detected it on 10th October" or" My anti-virus detected it on 10th of October"

My question: Do I need to use the preposition "of" after the date 10th in the sentence? Is it needed grammatically?

Thanks and regards Emotion: smile

Hi,

Sentence: "My anti-virus detected it on 10th October" OK .

But I'd prefer "My anti-virus detected it on October 10th."

or" My anti-virus detected it on the 10th of October" If I used 'of', I'd also say 'the'.

There are many variants on the expression of dates.

Here are some that I use:

My anti-virus detected it on the 10th of October. (Of is necessary, as is the)
My anti-virus detected it on October 10(, 2010
