Is the preposition necessary in this sentence ?

My sentence: "I'm not able to reply to your message" or "I'm not able to reply your message"

My question: Is it necessay, grammatically, to put preposition "to"after the word reply ? Or will it be correct without it ? Like in the second sentence.Emotion: smile
