Is the phrase "to find a solution toward" correct?

I've seen many uses for the word toward, but should it appear in the same sentence as a "to" infinitive when toward is preceded by a noun? Let me provide two examples:

The group has tried for months to find a solution toward the tax hike.
The manager held a meeting to discuss possible solutions toward the server crash.

Should I rewrite both sentences, or are they correct?

Thank you very much. I think I ran into trouble with the sentences mentioned in my question because I spent too much time just staring at them. The sentences seem fine on the surface, but the grammar police station that lives in my head kept undermining my confidince. Sometimes the grammar cops spark false alarms.
