Is the grammar okay here?

Hi!

Would you change the grammar here?

The spouses state that their marriage has turned out to be unsuccessful; their relationships have worsened since May of 2012 and they terminated cohabitation in July of 2012.

Thank you!

Top answer

" "Terminated cohabitation" is formal and might be necessary for a legal document. Even in one of those, "they stopped living together" might be acceptable.
