Is the grammar correct in this text?

This is a part of my essay. I'm not sure if this part if written correctly.

In the early 1930's, Germany was in recession. A man called Adolf Hitler decided that the problems were caused byt the Jewish people. Germans began to be afraid of the Jews. Between 1939 and 1945 the SS systematically killed at least 11 million people. More than 5 million of whom were Jews.

Hello Anon The use of "whom" in an independent clause is grammatically wrong. Combine the last two sentences into one like : "Between 1939 and 1945 the SS systematically killed at least 11 million people, more than 5 million of whom were Jews". Another point that sounds odd to me is the verb "decided".

  • I think it would be better to be replaced by other verbs like "asserted" or "alleged".
