Is the following sentence correct?

I would like to know if the following sentence is structured correctly or incorrectly, it is:

“I and the team will definitely update you as information becomes available.”

I know I could have structured it as follows:

“The team and I will definitely update you as information becomes available’.

If you could tell me if the first example is right/wrong (and possibly why/why not) it woud be greatly appreciated.

Thanks so much

Hi,

Both are correct grammar.

'The team and I . . ' In situations where politeness is a primary concern, it's considered polite not to mention yourself first. eg My wife and I would like to invite you . . .i

'I and the team . .' In a business context, you may consider it more important to mention yourself first because you are the team leader.
