Is the dialog natural?

As I got into the passenger seat, the cab driver gave me a look.

Me: What?

Cab driver: Nothing, I just thought you were gonna sit in the back.

Me: Oh, sorry, I can just--

Cab driver: No. Now you're already here, so...

Me: Okay. Thank you.


Does this dialog strike you as completely natural? Please correct anything you feel could be better.

Me: What? Is something wrong? (I'd only say the terse 'What' to someone I knew a little.)

Cab driver: Nothing, I just thought you were gonna sit in the back.

Me: Oh, sorry, I can just--

Cab driver: No. Now you're already her
