Is the dash or comma a better fit?
Are all three punctuated correctly below? If not, which one would you choose in each set?
Set 1
1) What is he on, drugs or something?
2) What is he on – drugs or something?
3) What is he on? Drugs or something?
Set 2
1) Which one would you choose, one or two?
2) Which one would you choose – one or two?
Set 3
1) I'd like to introduce you to my new financial partner, Mr Dave Jones. (This one looks too much like a direct address.)
2) I'd like to introduce you to my new financial partner – Mr Dave Jones.
Thanks.
