Is the correct word 'disheveled'?

When you purposely mess up your hair, what is the word for that?
It is hard to achieve that disheveled hair look. My hair is messy but I want it like that.

Is this sentence correct: When you purposely mess up your hair, what is the word for that?

Thanks

Sounds good. Disheveled simply refers to the state of the hair (messy.) It doesn't speak to your having purposely made it that way. :>

Do you have to say 'disheveled HAIR LOOK or just disheveled look? Is there a word for when you purposely do so?

Thanks

If you've already mentioned the hair and the reader knows you're referring to it, it's okay to use "disheveled look." As for your question above, how about: "he messed up his hair to give it that "disheveled look." :>
