Is the comma here necessary?

"UniQure's hemophilla B treatment appears to be among the treatments working, with 52 of 54 patients no longer needing injections of factor IX after 6 months in its latest study."

Q1. Is the comma here necessary?

Q2. Is "working" modifying "treatments" ? If so, why doesn't it come before "treatments" like "the working treatments"?

Q3. what does "working" mean here? "effective" or "working" is a chunk as "working with 52~"?
