Is the comma after 'article' needed and why? Thanks.
If "The Most Comma Mistakes" is intended to be in apposition, that is, it is intended to "restate" the phrase "Ben Yagoda's 2012 New York Times article", then the comma is correct. If on the other hand it is intended to complete the phrase, then the comma is wrong. For me, the latter seems the most likely intention, as far as I can tell with no more context, and on that basis I would judge the comma to be probably incorrect (which is rather ironic).

I'd use the comma, because if I said this aloud I would naturally pause briefly at that point.
