Is that a beautiful garden?

A:____

B: Yes, it is.

(1) Is that a beautiful garden?

(2) Is that garden beautiful?

(3) Is a garden that beautiful?

(4) Is that beautiful a garden?

Please anyone help me explain why the answer is (2). Can it be (1)?

I would say (1) and (2) are both grammatical and either one could be answered with "Yes, it is." (3) is also possible, depending on context. I see no reason to consider (1) incorrect.

(Edited to add: another possiblility to which "yes, it is" would be an appropriate answer: "Isnt that a beautiful garden?")

Parand, I appreciate your trying to help, but in this case you are trying too hard! The question had nothing to do with order of adjectives. Also, your post is very hard to read because of incorrect spacing and capitalization, and the last run-on "sentence"
