is "so...that" structure considered to be an appositive clause?

There is so much variety that you never have to make do with second best.

My question is if I analyze the sentence type, is this sentence a complex sentence - noun clause - appositive clause?

Top answer

It is a complex sentence. The dependent clause is not a noun clause. A noun clause would function as a subject, object, or subject complement.

I'm confused. I assume "There is so much variety" is the independent clause, and "that you never have to make do with second best" is the dependent clause. Could you please explain why it is an adverbial clause. I don't seem to find the subordinating conjunction word.
