Is round a shape? Or an adjective that describes a shape? At the moment, I'm thinking it is, and all the sites I've looked at seem to agree, but it's been argued with me that round only refers to a shape, and is not actually one.

I would guess that very few would say it's a circle or sphere. Most would say it is drinks bought in a bar for you and your friends or a bullet in a gun or, more rarely, a set of billiards games, a single song

An adjective that describes a shape.

Some shapes are a triangle, a circle, a rectangle, an ellipse, and a pentagon. There is no shape called "a round". It would have to be an approximation thus: It's a round thing.

Round is not a shape, it wo7ld be an adjective that describes a shape.

At best, round is a loose description of a circle or circular shape. A ball or some other “round” shape should technically be called a sphere.
