Usage

Is "renumerate" a word?

I know, I know, it's a common misspelling of "remunerate."

But it looks as though it ought to be a word.

Is it?

Irregardless of weather its a word or not, I could care less, I'm completely disinterested in renumerate. (Said tongue and cheek of coarse, so its a mute point.)

It probably is, but most people would use "renumber"..

That's a mistake that one not only sees often, but hears, too. I've heard people mention 'renumeration' when talking about what they earned on overtime, for example.

Sometimes when I look at my remuneration and calculate what goes to the government, I think of the balance as a case of renumeration.
